Covid's Achilles Heel

Are you distressed by your government's response to the Covid pandemic?
Have you been labeled a non-essential worker and lost your income?
Is the education of your children suffering?
Have you been locked into your home while in good health?
Do you resent being regarded as a danger to others while well?
Do you miss social contact, travel, and public entertainment?
Have you tired of your leaders issuing orders on camera like Zeus throwing down thunderbolts?

Mainstream media has supported these measures without question.
Most people are sufficiently fearful of the virus that they suspend all judgment
about whether the mandates are wise.
Federal spending is in uncharted territory with endless bailouts
to address the consequences of the lockdowns.

Anyone who speaks against the lockdowns is said to be unconcerned about others' health.
On the other hand, the media accept the detrimental effects of the lockdowns as unavoidable.

What can one do when the government has exceeded its authority?
The usual suggestions are to write letters to elected officials, or the newspaper,
or to protest peacefully in the streets.

There is another option that hits officialdom closer to where it lives.
It is free, safe, reversible, and discreet.
This option is the Achilles heel mentioned in the title.

There is a political party whose name expresses its highest priority concern.
Do you want to tell your government that you love liberty more than you fear Covid?
That you agree to act responsibly and with tolerance toward others so long as you are free?
That a life without liberty is no life at all?
Then change your political party registration to the Libertarian Party.

If large numbers of people used party registration to protest this historic grievance,
those in power would surely take notice.
There is no need for us to go quietly into that good night of tyranny.
Let us use the tools at our disposal to demand liberty.

About the Libertarian Party

The Libertarian Party is a political organization that seeks to best represent the majority of Americans who believe in pushing forward policies of fiscal conservatism and social liberalism. You should consider voting Libertarian or joining the party if you want to:

  • Substantially reduce the size and intrusiveness of government and cut and eliminate taxes at every opportunity.
  • Sell your goods and services to willing customers without the government innaproppriately interfering in your business.
  • Decide for yourself how to live your life, without fear of criminal or civil penalties.
  • Have the government protect you from force and fraud, and nothing more.

Core Values

Personal Liberty

Individuals should be free to make choices for themselves and must accept responsibility for the consequences of the choices they make.

Economic Liberty

Libertarians want all members of society to have abundant opportunities to achieve economic success. A free and competitive market allocates resources in the most efficient manner.

Securing Liberty

The protection of individual rights is the only proper purpose of government. Government is constitutionally limited so as to prevent the infringement of individual rights by the government itself.

Omissions

Our silence about any other particular government law, regulation, ordinance, directive, edict, control, regulatory agency, activity, or machination should not be construed to imply approval.
